An artistic impression of the project. Tnorala (Gosse's Bluff) meteorite crater in the background
The background concept was simple; to have an astronomical observatory on the wheels and explore what it can achieve and where it takes us.
Public outreach astronomy is usually limited to small size telescopes and gear which may seem forever to setup and wrap up. To carry larger gear which is capable of rapid deployment and gathers public attention at the same time, a fully functional and purpose built observatory on the wheels was as wild an idea as it was useful.
